GES restores recruitment portal online with a Self-posting module

The College of Education (CoE) Self-posting module is a new feature that the administration of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has added to its online recruiting site, which is now operational again at https://gespromotions.gov.gh.

This comes after the Ministry of Education's Ghana Education Service went down the https://gespromotions.gov.gh/ in order to make some required updates that included the CoE self-posting capability.

In the communiqué, Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director-General of the GES, clarified that the portal outage was due to maintenance and an upgrade that would allow applicants to make good use of the recently added self-posting capability in the system.

The system is now down in order to perform an upgrade that will enable applicants to self-repost content inside the system. This led to the technical outage. When the technology is operational, we will properly communicate," he said.

At that moment, a visit to the GES recruiting site displayed "503 Service Unavailable." The website is unavailable as shown by the message "No server is available to handle this request." For over a week, the https://gespromotions.gov.gh was unavailable.

The Ghana Education Service will be able to post newly hired qualified teachers to the desired area of their choice thanks to the recently implemented College of Education (CoE) self-posting module at the GES recruiting site.

The self-posting module, which was unveiled in early July of this year, according to the Ghana Education Service, has replaced the conventional posting method, which had them alone deciding where to put a newly hired teacher.

How to self-post as a 2024 GES instructor

1. Go to the website gespromotions.gov.gh.

2. To confirm your eligibility, enter your College Index Number.

3. Precisely enter both your NTC number and phone number. This is essential for application success and validation.

4. The phone number you supply will get a One-Time Password (OTP).

5. Type in your OTP.

6. Carefully choose your preferred District, School, and Region, then press the submit button.

7. Save the appointment letter, then print it off.

The GES Director-General has said that newly hired trained instructors who do not complete the online procedure will not be acknowledged as successful applicants for self-posting, characterising the process as essential.
