We are introducing the GES platform, a management information system.

Dr. Eric Nkansah, the director-general of the Ghana Education Service (GES), says that his organisation would eventually launch the GES Management Information System Platform as part of its attempts to digitalise its operations in the nation.

Speaking at the Ghana Teacher Prize (GTP) 2024 launch event held in Accra at the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) hall, a representative from GES stated that pertinent data or information will be published onto the information system platform.

At the unveiling of the 2024 GTP, the Director-General stated, "We are currently working to implement the GES Management Information System Platform which will house all relevant data on schools, staff, learners, and infrastructure."

He stated that employees will be aboole to apply for assurance letters, transfers, salary-related matters, leave, and a variety of other service-related matters using the GES management information system platform, the status of which may be monitored online.

Speaking at the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize inauguration with the subject "Celebrating Excellence: Valorising Our Teachers," he declared that GES will keep looking for creative and resourceful solutions to the problems that employees face on the job.

In a related development, Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education (MoE) are working together to create a unique teachers portal where educators can file grievances. This is according to Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

During the launch of teacher licensure and registration in Ghana, the Minister of Education said that his department will designate case managers to oversee the resolution of complaints and cases.

At the 2021 GTLE launch, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum informed attendees, "When they are resolved, there will be a dashboard for me to know that there was, for instance, a reduction of 20,000 complaints from Ashanti or other regions."

The Minister in Charge of Education and the Member of Parliament representing Bosomtwe constituency stated that the teachers portal will assist them in removing obstacles from teachers' paths and addressing their welfare concerns so they can perform their duties effectively.

Adutwum declared at a different occasion that same year that he was setting up a union desk at the Ministry of Education (MoE) to take complaints from the nation's numerous teacher unions and provide a prompt resolution.

The Education Minister stated that the goal of the union desk is to address problems that the unions have in the education sector, such as teacher allowances, welfare, and other difficulties.

The Minister of Education informed the pre-tertiary teacher union leadership, "I am setting up a unions desk in the Minister's office which means there will be somebody in my office who deals with the unions at any point in time."
